Melanie Hill has been a member of the Dothan City school board since 2021. She was appointed to fill a vacant District 3 Director seat in December 2023. Melanie works as the southeast Alabama field representative for U.S. Sen. Katie Britt.

She has reached Level 3 in AASB's School Board Member Academy and has served on the Resolutions Committee.

Melanie holds two bachelor's degrees in mass communication and biblical studies from Samford University and a master's degree in counseling/psychology from Troy University (Dothan campus). 

She is a former executive program manager for Bright Key (DCS Community Schools Initiative) and serves as a trustee for the Houston County Library System. She is a member of Hudson Alpha Wiregrass community engagement team, the Wiregrass Republican Women Club and a United Way volunteer. 

Melanie is a member of First Baptist Church. She is married to Walter Hill.
