Marie has been a member of the St. Clair County school board since 2010 and was elected to serve as AASB District 6 director in 2017. She has been a member of the association's Academy Advisory and Budget and Finance Committees. She has reached Level 3 in the AASB School Board Member Academy.
She is a retired superintendent of Education for the St. Clair County school system and currently is employed by Jefferson State Community College, where she works in enrollment services for St. Clair sites. She is a member of the Pell City Chamber of Commerce, a Life Member of the Jacksonville State University Alumni Association, the St. Clair County Educational Foundation, Inc., the board of directors Leadership St. Clair the YWCA Domestic Abuse Advisory Board. Marie also is a member of the Pell City First Baptist Church.
Marie is married to St. Clair County Commissioner Paul Manning. She has one daughter, Leann Coker Ford, and two grandsons, Cade Walker and Barrett Ford.
