2025 Webinar: Tackling Chronic Absenteeism

From transportation issues to mental health struggles, many students face barriers that keep them out of the classroom. Chronic absenteeism is more than just missed days; it is lost learning opportunities that can derail academic progress.

School boards play a key role in addressing chronic absenteeism by setting policies, allocating resources and holding leadership accountable for improving attendance.

Join us July 23 from noon to 1 p.m., to learn more about how your school system can work towards tackling chronic absenteeism. Alabama State Department of Education Instructional Services Administrator Dr. Kay Warfield will break down what chronic absenteeism is, why it matters and share insights on how school systems and communities can work together to ensure every students is present, engaged and supported. 

Cost: $55 individual | $210 group

Board members will earn 1 credit hour in the School Board Member Academy.
