The deadline for nominations for AASB's all new A-Team Advocacy Award has now been extended to Sept. 29, 2023. Launched earlier this year, this new award honors Alabama school board members who have demonstrated exemplary advocacy efforts and fostered impactful relationships with lawmakers and policymakers in support of public education.

Now that the regular legislative session has ended, we’re excited to launch our AASB's A-Team Award. This is a new award honoring exemplary advocacy efforts of school board members.

Whether you have been or know a local school board member who has been instrumental in advocacy to affect policy and foster impactful relationships with policy makers, that dedication deserves recognition.

You may self-nominate or nominate a peer who has demonstrated exemplary advocacy efforts. Remember, while meeting all nomination criteria is advantageous, it's not mandatory.

All nominations must be submitted to AASB by September 29, 2023.

After all nominations have been received, they will be given to AASB’s selection panel to review the nominations based on the impact and quality of advocacy according to the criteria set forth. Once selected, the shining stars of AASB’s A-Team will be announced and celebrated at AASB’s annual convention in December.
