AASB's 2026 Summer Conference will feature an agenda filled with inspiring and motivating sessions that will help you "Make Your Mark" as a school board member. View Schedule

2026 Summer Conference: Make Your Mark
Main Conference ($349) | Please contact your board secretary to register.
- Training Credit: Board members will receive up to 7 hours of credit in the AASB School Board Member Academy and satisfy a core course requirement. Hours will also be applied toward the state training requirement.
- Cancellations: There is a $75 cancellation fee. Please note, the last day to cancel is Thursday, June 11. Cancellations after this date, as well as no-shows the day of event will be charged full price.
- Late Registration Fee: There is a $20 late registration fee beginning Thursday, June 11.
School Safety Summit ($159) | Friday, June 19 | 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. | Please contact your board secretary to register.
- Training Credit: 3.5 hours
- Cancellations: The last day to cancel is Thursday, June 11. Cancellations after this date, as well as no-shows the day of event will be charged full price ($159).
Things To Know:
- Location: The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton hotel (NOTE: you must first register for the Conference before booking a room at the Lodge.)
- Schedule: Summer Conference will follow a single session schedule Friday through Sunday. Registrants MUST attend Friday, Saturday and Sunday's general sessions in order to receive full credit.
- School Safety Summit: The pre-conference workshop, School Safety Summit, will be Friday, June 19 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch is included. Board members will receive 3.5 training hours.
- Exhibit Showcase: Be sure to take time to visit with the vendors participating in the AASB Exhibit Showcase. You'll learn more about a variety of products and services available to help your school systems operate more efficiently. Plus, you'll have an opportunity to win exciting prize drawings and giveaways.
- Training Hours: Earn up to 7 hours

Cancellations: Cancellations or changes to reservations less than 30 days in advance of arrival will incur one night room and tax penalty.
If you need cancel your hotel reservation prior to the 30-day cutoff, please email Blakely Pemberton at bpemberton@alabamaschoolboards.org with your hotel confirmation number so that we can reallocate the hotel room promptly.

Brett Robinson Rentals
AASB has arranged a special 10% discount for condos booked through Brett Robinson rentals.
IMPORTANT: You can visit the Brett Robinson Rentals website to view properties; however, reservations must be made by phone to receive the 10% discount. There is a three-night minimum per reservation.

The call center is available for reservations every day from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. every day, including weekends and holidays.
- Payments and Deposits: A non-refundable reservation processing fee of $199 is due at time of booking. The remainder of the balance is automatically charged to the card on file 30 days prior to check-in. Reservations made within 30 days of arrival are charged the grand total of reservation at time of booking.
Cancellations: If the reservation is cancelled 31 days or more prior to arrival, all monies will be refunded minus the non-refundable $199 reservation processing fee. If the reservation is cancelled 30 or few days prior to arrival, the grand total of booking (rent, fees, and taxes) will be forfeited.
- There are no refunds for early departures or inclement weather.
