Jayne Harrell Williams, a Montgomery native, is a graduate of Florida A & M University and Georgetown University Law Center. She joined AASB in 2014 as general counsel and director of legal advocacy.
She is responsible for training, assisting with advocacy and legislation on issues impacting public education, providing legal information to members and keeping members informed of relevant legislation, court opinions and policy matters.
Prior to joining AASB, Jayne was a shareholder practicing education law with the Montgomery law firm of Hill, Hill, Carter, Franco, Cole & Black, where she remains of counsel. She is a past president of the Alabama Council of School Board Attorneys, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and was named a Rising Star in the area of education law by the 2014 edition of Alabama Super Lawyers.
She is married and has two young sons.
