Gwen served a two-year term as AASB's vice president after serving as District 4 director from December 2012 to December 2016. She has been a member of the Lanett school board, which she chairs, since 2000. Gwen has served on numerous AASB committees and task forces. She owns a Express Tax Service in Lanett. She has a bachelor's degree and is a former educator.
Sgt. Maj. (Ret) Mike Oakley of the U.S. Army/Alabama National Guard assumed the office of AASB President-Elect in December 2019 after having served two terms as District 2 director. He served more than 40 years in the military and has been a member of the Bibb County school board since 1998. He works in federal, governmental and corporate affairs at Alabama Power.
James completed two-year terms as president and vice president after having served as District 1 director from December 2012 to December 2015. He was appointed to the Satsuma school board in 2011. He has attained Master Honor Roll School Board Member status in the AASB School Board Member Academy and is the owner of Insignis Interactive, Inc.
Pam is a member of the Alabama School of Math and Science Board and is a former member of the Muscle Shoals Board of Education. She has served as AASB immediate past president, president, vice president and as the AASB District 8 director. Pam owns and operates Superior Print Solutions.
Tracie has been the District 1 State Board of Education member since 2019. She is the state board liaison on the AASB Board of Directors. Tracie served as a member of the Auburn City school board for nine years, including two years as president.
Shannon has been a member of the Baldwin County school board since 2013 and has chaired the board. She has been a school volunteer as well as vice president and president of PTA boards. She serves on the Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation Board.
Shelia has been a member of the Wilcox County school board since 2015 and currently serves as board vice president. She became AASB's District 2 director in December 2019. Shelia is employed by the Wilcox County Department of Human Resources as a financial social worker II.
Dr. Greg Price has been a member of the Pike County School Board, of which he serves as vice president, since 2002. He became AASB's District 3 director in the fall of 2016. Greg is the chief technology and security officer at Troy University and is a nationally recognized expert in the field of cybersecurity.
Mary has been a member of the Macon County school board since 2010. She has served on AASB's Resolutions Committee and the Board Training Advisory Committee. She is vice president of the Macon County School Board.
Renna has been a member of the Bessemer City School Board since 2006 and has been actively involved in AASB, having served on the Leader to Leader, Nominating and Advocacy Committees. She also is a member of the Alabama Council of Black School Board Members.
Marie has been a member of the St. Clair County school board since 2010 and was elected to serve as AASB District 6 director in 2017. She has served on AASB's Academy Advisory and Budget and Finance Committees.
Bradley has been a member of the Walker County school board since 2008 and became AASB's District 7 director in June 2017. Brad, a supervisor at Drummond Co., Inc., has served on AASB's Budget & Finance and Bylaws Committees.
Ronnie has been a member of the Lauderdale County school board since 2014 and currently serves as board president. Ronnie has served on AASB's Multicultural and Federal Relations Network Committees. He was elected to serve as AASB District 8 director in 2017.
Wilder has been a member of the Huntsville school board since 2014 and was named AASB District 9 director in 2018. She currently serves as president of the Huntsville school board and has reached the master level in AASB's School Board Member Academy.
Sally joined AASB’s staff in 1986 and previously served as assistant executive director, director of public relations, director of communications and director of research and special projects. She was promoted to executive director in June 2007. She manages the association’s affairs, directs legislative efforts, advises the AASB membership and oversees efforts to build public support for schools. The executive director serves as secretary and treasurer of the AASB Board of Directors.
