2024 March Conference: Leadership for Policy and Planning


AASB's March Conference, Leadership for Policy and Planning, will take place in north Alabama at The Westin Huntsville!

Join us March 1 and 2 at The Westin Huntsville for AASB's Spring Academy Core Conference, Leadership for Policy and Planning (6 training hours), with informative sessions to help boards develop policies that raise student achievement, fulfill their responsibilities and comply with the law. This course emphasizes vital topics for every local board of education such as strategic planning, using technology and keeping the community informed. View Schedule

Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering Tour (Free) | February 29, 12:45 to 3 p.m. | REGISTER NOW

Arrive early and join AASB for an optional tour of the Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering. Guests will tour the Cyber Technology school and view student demonstrations. Join us as we learn how this particular school has altered traditional learning to fit the schools focus on cyber technology and engineering. (Earn 1.5 training hours)


Poverty Simulation ($59) | March 1, 9 to 11:30 a.m. | REGISTER NOW

Alabama has the sixth highest poverty rate in the nation. Do you understand the challenges your students and their families face? Get a sobering glimpse into the day-to-day realities of students and families living in poverty by participating in this interactive simulation. (Earn 2.5 training hours)


Early Bird Workshop: "Multiplying Success in Math" ($79) | March 1, 1 to 3 p.m. | REGISTER NOW

Glean firsthand insight from Alabama school systems that have successfully moved the needle in math proficiency and learn more about how local boards of education can help support transformative improvements in math instruction. (Earn 2 training hours)
