Brand new to board service?

Plan to stay after Summer Conference 2007 for Leadership I, part of AASB’s orientation program for new board members and new superintendents.

Starting Tuesday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m., this seminar is an eight-hour introduction to the many laws and responsibilities that impact your job as a school board member or superintendent. Designed for those with two years’ or less experience, the session runs through 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and covers personnel laws, ethics, effective board meetings and other topics to get you up to speed quickly.

Although designed for those new to board service, Leadership I is open to all board members and superintendents wanting a refresher course.

Pre-registration for AASB members – which can be handled on the same form as Summer Conference – is $120.
